Oak is the most common type of tree in the game. Almost every axe in the game is capable of chopping it, and it serves as the introductory tree for new players, as well as a cheap and easy building material. It can be found in the Grassland and Western Mountainside biome.
Oak trees grow very fast and is one of the smallest trees. They are typically very thin and short, making them not a very good source of money beyond earlygame. The colours of the tree are the most standard possible; brown wood and green leaves.
Oak is the easiest tree to harvest, being very abundant in the Mainland biome (where all players spawn), as well as also being findable in other biomes. It's a good idea for new players to chop Oak trees close to Wood R Us to minimize walking.
